RUDN University students made presentations of their scientific projects at the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi

October 14 - 22, 2017 in Sochi took place the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students. The festival movement is now 70 years old, the first Festival was held in Prague in 1947. Russian Federation hosted the Festival of Youth and Students three times - 1957 (Moscow), 1958 (Moscow), 2017 (Sochi).

October 14 - 22, 2017 in Sochi took place the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students. The festival movement is now 70 years old, the first Festival was held in Prague in 1947. Russian Federation hosted the Festival of Youth and Students three times - 1957 (Moscow), 1958 (Moscow), 2017 (Sochi).

More than 25 thousand participants from all over the world attended master classes, discussions, met with famous scientists, politicians, public figures and participated in sport competitions and musical shows. The events took place at more than 150 venues. The most popular was the discussion program, held in the Main Media Center (daily visited by more than 9 thousand people).

More than 250 students of Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) attended the Festival, including students, participated in the international exhibition of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Russian Federation. All students made presentations of their scientific projects at the exhibition in the Main Media Center:

- An innovative method of growing crops, based on clonal micropropagation using a healthy, virus-free planting stock. Romanets Margarita Mikhailovna, Anna Timonina;

- Architectural project «Scientific Center CUBER science» (eco-sustainable construction). Alexander Chikunov;

- City Farming - a project for creating greenhouses for growing crops, creating gardens, greenhouses in the conditions of urban apartments, offices, public premises. Nguyen Thanh Huen (Vietnam)

The students also took part in discussions with other students and young scientists from different universities of Russia and foreign countries, dedicated to the main issues of the development of science, economy and society. Were reached agreements on further cooperation with some universities and companies.

The trip was organized within the framework of the RUDN University Competitiveness Program «5-100» (project M 3.2.1.) envisaged activities to support the research activity of RUDN University students and young scientific and pedagogical staff, increase their contribution to the University's scientific reputation.
