The National Demographic Report 2023 was published with the participation of RUDN. Demographic well-being of Russian regions

The National Demographic Report, 2023 Demographic Well-Being of Russian Regions (hereinafter - the National Demographic Report) was prepared by the scientific team of the Institute of Demographic Studies of the Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Vologda Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 91ÌÒÉ«APP, the Center for Family and Demography of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as with the participation of leading scientists from the Republic of Bashkortostan, Stavropol Krai, Volgograd, Ivanovo, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Sverdlovsk Oblasts and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra.

The National Demographic Report includes 2 sections. The first section is "Demographic development of Russia in the context of national security of the country" which consists of the analysis of the peculiarities of regulation of marital, reproductive and self-preservation behavior and development of indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North on the example of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra in the context of national security of the country.

The second section is "Regional peculiarities of the demographic situation" which includes an analysis of the demographic situation in 12 constituent entities of the Russian Federation: Moscow and Moscow Oblast, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Tatarstan, Stavropol Krai, Volgograd Oblast, Vologda Oblast, Ivanovo Oblast, Kaliningrad Oblast, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra.

The report is addressed to government officials, researchers, university professors, graduate students and undergraduates.

However, it has remained unclear how underground interactions between trees and fungi affect forest species richness in different climatic conditions. Previous studies have yielded conflicting results: in some regions, the dominance of certain fungi reduced tree diversity, while in others it increased it.
